AN NGO, ELEJE LEGACY FOUNDATION DISTRIBUTES FOOD ITEMS TO 100 FAMILIES IN OZIZZA, AFIKPO NORTH OF EBONYI STATE:

As so many individuals and families are loosing hope in the midst of lack and hunger ravaging the land, caused by the COVID-19 Pandemic lockdown, a Non-governmental organization, the Eleje Legacy Foundation (ELF) has brought back hope in Amikpo Community, Ozizza in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State, as it distributed food items worth hundreds of thousands of Naira to100 families in the community.

AJM NEWS gathered that the Eleje Legacy Foundation, which is also a Non-profit making organization, distributed no fewer than one hundred (10 Kg) bags of rice to 100 households in Amikpo, Ozizza.
Other food items shared by the ELF include:
One Litre of Vegetable Oil; One Hundred Cubes of Maggi; Tomato Pastes and Indomie Noddles to each of the hundred families.

Speaking on the distribution of the palliatives, the Representative of the Eleje Legacy Foundation (ELF), Chief Eddie Eleje (aka Blacky) stated that the foundation was established in honour of Omeroha Inyang Eleje and Ezinne Beatrice Eleje, the late parents of the great Eleje Family.

He also noted that the membership of Eleje Legacy Foundation cuts across all the children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Omeroha Inyang Eleje and Ezinne Beatrice Eleje of the blessed memory.

Chief Eddie also revealed that the mandate of the Legacy is to advocate for the underprivileged women and children, especially the girl child, through the provision of healthcare, food, clothing, shelter, education, legal advocacy, emotional support, as well as provision of platform for women to act as agents of social change through advocacy and capacity building.

He added: "Today, April 28, 2020, inline with its mandate, the Eleje Legacy Foundation, commissioned its first project. 
"In the face of the difficult times imposed by the COVID-19 Pandemic, the ELF has taken steps to alleviate the sufferings of our immediate community by providing food stuffs to 100 households spread across Amikpo, Ozizza in Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State".

The beneficiaries of today's palliatives who could not hide their joy, thanked the Eleje Family immensely for the kind gesture shown to them.

AJM NEWS Before the end of this year 2020, no person living in Nigeria would be allowed to use more than three Sim Cards.
