EX-COMMISSIONER IN EBONYI TRIES TO INSTIGATE CRISES IN HIS HOME TOWN, TO COVER UP SHADY BUSINESS DEALS WITH A TELECOM COMPANY:
🆘EX – COMMISSIONER TRIES TO GENERATE CRISES IN HIS VILLAGE IN EBONYI STATE:
(Written And Sent To Afikpo Jokwa Media By Surveyor Titus Obila)
A former Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflict Resolution Ebonyi State, Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja, propelled by rage and acrimony , has ordered the construction of an illegal structure on an existing road in his village Amankwo Nkpoghoro, Afikpo North Local Government Area of Ebonyi State; thus blocking the road and denying people access to their homes, especially that of Surveyor Titus Obila whom he wanted to oppress, suppress and intimidate for differing in opinion with him.
It was gathered that Town Planning Authority, Afikpo North L.G.A. issued him a 'Stop Work' order on 5th February, 2020 but he refused to obey the order of the Planning Authority. The Police also advised him to stop work but he paid deaf ears to the advice.
On 5th February, 2020 at about 4.00pm when one Pastor Emmanuel Nwachukwu and Mr. Joseph Otu Igwe accompanied Surveyor Titus Obila to his house, they were attacked by Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja’s men working on the illegal construction site on the road. The trio managed to escape the mob and ran to report at the police station. While they were still with the DPO, one Mr. Sunny Mark Aja Obiahu second-in-command to Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja entered and told the DPO that he was sorry for the attack, stating that the men at the construction site acted on previous instruction but that he had just given them new instruction to leave the illegal construction on the road, until the scheduled peace meeting at DPO’s office on Monday 10th February, 2020. The DPO warned him that should anything happen at that site again he should be held responsible.
On 7th February, 2020, the DPO and the DCO decided to visit the site of the illegal construction on the road at Amankwo, they were attacked by Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja’s men still working at the site.
From all indications, Chief Donatus Aja has no regard for God, men or any constituted authority. But is he also above the law? For a former commissioner for Border peace and conflict Resolution to generate series of crisis in his own village is a serious curse not a blessing. What has gone wrong? What led to the blockage of an existing road with an illegal structure?
Our interview with Surveyor Titus N. Obila revealed unbelievably that Chief Donatus Aja made some personal secret deals with ATC Nigeria Wireless Infrastructure Limited for installation of Telecommunication mast at Ogo Anankwo communual land. That Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja told a section of the village that he made the deal with ATC Nigeria Limited for and on behalf of the entire Amankwo village. He further said that ATC Nigeria Wireless Infrastructure Limited offered him Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (₦750,000.00) to Amankwo Community for Five years lease term of communal land located at Ogo Amankwo, near Amankwo Town Hall.
It was revealed that Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja further stated that ATC Nigeria Wireless Infrastructure Ltd issued him a personal Cheque of Two million Naira (₦2,000,000.00) with an instruction to give One Million Two Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira(₦1,250,000.00) to the staff of ATC Nigeria Wireless Infrastructure Ltd for logistics and the remaining Seven Hundred and Fifty Thousand Naira (₦750,000.00) to the entire Amankwo Community.
Then those present who did not buy the story including Surveyor Titus Obila demanded for a photocopy of the said cheque and a copy of the M.O.U with ATC Nigeria, but Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja refused to present the documents.
Earlier on at the incipient stage of the secret negotiations with Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja, the company ATC Wireless Infrastructure was warned in writing to stop dealing with an individual in a lease of a community land without the consent and approval of the component compounds that make up Amankwo Village. The company did not respond to the letter until January, 2020 when they started the mast installation at Ogo Amankwo.
A suit HAF/8/2020 and motion HAF/14m/2020 were filed against Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja and ATC Nigeria Wireless Infrastructure Ltd as defendants. On 3rd February, 2020. Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja sensing danger sent some people led by Mr. Louis Ogbonnia Ogbuu, Mr. Egwu Egwini, Mr. Thomas Inya Oko and others to threaten that if Surveyor Titus Obila did not withdraw the above suit that day his life will be in danger the following day.
True to their threat, Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja mobilized some youths led by one Emeka Ude to block the access road leading to Surveyor Titus Obila’s House with an illegal structure on the road and instructing the hired Youths to kill Surveyor Titus Obila if he dares to disturb their illegal construction work. This is a clear indication that he is determined to kill Surveyor Titus Obila if not arrested.
It is also of note:
That Surveyor Titus Obila is the only one out of the eleven (11No) plaintiffs who filed the above mentioned suit. So why single him out for destruction?
That the above mentioned suit is not against Amankwo Community ,but Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja brainwashed many people to tell them that Surveyor Titus Obila sued them to prevent the installation of the Telecom Mast.
That Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja is trying to generate crises in Amankwo to divert attention from the suit and the secret deal he made with the company, ATC Nigeria.
That in the year 2018, Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja filed a frivolous suit in the Federal High Court Abakaliki against Surveyor Titus Obila and 5 others claiming ₦400,000,000.00 for instigating the police to arrest and detain him for six (6) hours in Abakaliki Police Station. The suit was determined on 20th May, 2019 in favour of the defendants.
Chief Donatus Ezeogo Aja made the above suit to divert attention from a fraud he committed in a Commercial Bank. He is doing everything to frustrate police investigation on the fraud.
Amankwo needs peace and not crisis; and it's quite unreasonable, unnecessary and out of place for a former Commissioner for Border Peace and Conflict Resolution to be instigating crisis and intimidating people in his very own town, where he is expected to be an example to others.
