Ebonyi State Government To Take Over Lands In Towns Designated As Urban

Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi says the state government will henceforth take over lands in all the areas designated as urban cities across the state.The governor made this known in Abakaliki through a Press Release made available by the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, who is also the Acting Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji. 
Some of the affected towns include Afikpo North, Ohaozara and Ivo Local Government Areas of the state. 

Below Is A Press Release Made By The Government To That Effect:

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Following the designation of some Local Government Areas as Urban, the Ebonyi State Executive Council has directed as follows:

1. That all lands within the urban territories in all the local government Areas designated as urban, are under the administration, control and management of the state government land use and allocation committee.

2. That no person or group of persons, be it town union or Development Centre, or Local Government authority is allowed to alienate or allocate or howsoever meddle with the title of the land within the areas designated as urban, without the express permission or approval by the state government.

3. It is to be noted that henceforth, legal title to the land in respect of the areas designated as urban, shall be availed only to an occupant who has acquired statutory right of occupancy from the state government.

For the benefit of doubt, the Local Government Areas newly designated as urban are Afikpo North, Ivo, and Ohaozara Local Government Areas.

All local government authorities and Community Development Unions are to please note and comply accordingly.

Nnamdi Kanu Reacts, Asks Military Men To Go And Fight Boko Haram Instead Of Besieging His Home Town

By Otu Obiahu AJM NEWS The leader of the Indegenous People Of Biafra, IPOB, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, ahead of his parent's burial has condemned the deployment of military men to his home town in Afara-Ukwu, Umahia by the Nigerian government. Nnamdi Kanu who made the reaction on his Twitter handle on Monday , however , asked the soldiers and Nigerian government to face the battle against Boko Haram terrorist group and Fulani Herdsmen Militia , who have murdered over 320 people only in Nigeria 2020, instead of coming to besiege his home town and harass innocent citizens unnecessarily.
