Ebonyi State Government To Take Over Lands In Towns Designated As Urban

Ebonyi State Governor, Engr. Dave Nweze Umahi says the state government will henceforth take over lands in all the areas designated as urban cities across the state.The governor made this known in Abakaliki through a Press Release made available by the Commissioner for Information and State Orientation, who is also the Acting Commissioner for Human Capital Development and Monitoring, Barr. Orji Uchenna Orji. 
Some of the affected towns include Afikpo North, Ohaozara and Ivo Local Government Areas of the state. 

Below Is A Press Release Made By The Government To That Effect:

PUBLIC SERVICE ANNOUNCEMENT

Following the designation of some Local Government Areas as Urban, the Ebonyi State Executive Council has directed as follows:

1. That all lands within the urban territories in all the local government Areas designated as urban, are under the administration, control and management of the state government land use and allocation committee.

2. That no person or group of persons, be it town union or Development Centre, or Local Government authority is allowed to alienate or allocate or howsoever meddle with the title of the land within the areas designated as urban, without the express permission or approval by the state government.

3. It is to be noted that henceforth, legal title to the land in respect of the areas designated as urban, shall be availed only to an occupant who has acquired statutory right of occupancy from the state government.

For the benefit of doubt, the Local Government Areas newly designated as urban are Afikpo North, Ivo, and Ohaozara Local Government Areas.

All local government authorities and Community Development Unions are to please note and comply accordingly.

AJM NEWS Before the end of this year 2020, no person living in Nigeria would be allowed to use more than three Sim Cards. Inline with this, the Honourable Minister Of Communications and Digital Economy, Isa Ibrahim Pantami has directed the Nigerian Communications Commission (NCC) to review SIM card registration and usage, in a bid to bar Nigerians from owning more than three mobile telephone lines.
